Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that Devon W. Galloway has been named a partner in the firm’s New York office, effective January 1, 2024.

Mr. Galloway has a broad range of litigation, pro bono, and leadership experience as he represents clients in matters ranging from high-stakes, multi-million-dollar litigation to bringing petitions for incarcerated individuals seeking compassionate release.

Mr. Galloway’s practice includes a mix of complex commercial litigation, health insurance coverage disputes, and white collar defense work. Notably, he plays an important role in the firm’s nationwide representation of a Fortune 50 corporation facing thousands of lawsuits by state and local governments seeking to recover expenses associated with the distribution of prescription opioids.

“Since joining the firm, Devon has demonstrated his unwavering dedication to our clients and the legal community,” said firm co-chair Caroline Mehta. “Through his breadth and depth of legal abilities, innate leadership qualities, and collaborative spirit, Devon has consistently exemplified our firm's values and high standards. As he steps into the role of partner, these attributes will undoubtedly continue to drive the firm toward new heights and client-focused success.”

“We are particularly gratified to support Devon’s well-deserved promotion,” said New York Office Managing Partner Shawn P. Naunton. “Having had the opportunity to work with Devon and to watch his skills develop as a talented lawyer and advocate has been a privilege. We share in the firm’s excitement as Devon embarks on this next stage of his career and in service to the firm’s clients.”

In recent years, Mr. Galloway has been honored with several recognitions, including being recognized by the American Bar Association with the “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers” award, named a finalist for The American Lawyer’s Young Lawyer of the Year–Beyond Practice Award, and receiving the New York State Bar Association’s President’s Pro Bono Service Young Lawyer Award. His efforts also significantly contributed to Zuckerman Spaeder being named to The National Law Journal’s Pro Bono Hotlist and being awarded the National Legal Aid & Defender Association’s Beacon of Justice Award in 2021 and 2022. Mr. Galloway has also been recognized as a “One to Watch” by the Best Lawyers in America since 2021.

Before receiving his J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law, Mr. Galloway earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University.
